One of the features which Wise Eyes users considerably benefit from are Parameters. The special thing about Parameters in Wise Eyes is that they are treated not simply as values to filter report data, but as global variables to be used all across the Wise Eyes environment. This means that Parameters:

⏩ can get their value in ways other than being entered by users directly to a report

⏩ can be used in many other places as well as being substituted into SQL

Parameters can source their values from: – Report Parameters, entered by users when a report is run – Library Parameters, created in the library once and then reused within all other reports – System Parameters, which store information about the computer running a report – Values from datasets Parameter values can be: – Used for a report run – Substituted easily into SQL, using replace or direct substitution – Substituted into in path and filenames, using substitution braces – Displayed directly on reports, including as a list of all parameters used on the report Altogether this broadens the framework of conventional use of parameters in reports and we are eager to expand it even more.
